The Cornerstone of Our Work

The Nkyinkyim
Pathway Arcs

The Nkyinkyim symbol embodies adaptability, resilience, and the wisdom to navigate complexity. Our four arcs trace the full arc of a student's journey — from the moment they first visit a campus to the day they step into their profession — grounded in cultural identity at every turn.

The Journey Begins
✦  Accepted   ✦
Arc 01
The Pre-Enrollment Arc
Visiting · Reviewing · Counting the Cost
Before the acceptance letter arrives, students are already making decisions that will shape their entire college experience. This arc guides families through campus visits, understanding true cost of attendance, comparing financial aid offers, and asking the questions no one else tells you to ask.
Campus visits Cost of attendance FAALL e-course Offer comparison
Arc 02
The Transitioning Arc
Identity · Alignment · Adaptability
The transition into a PWI can be disorienting without the right foundation. This arc provides lineage-based identity grounding that buffers against the harsh social realities of predominantly white spaces. Students also complete major and career alignment assessments and develop the university adaptability skills needed to navigate institutional culture on their own terms.
Lineage-based identity grounding Major & career assessment PWI adaptability skills Cultural anchoring
Arc 03
The Retention & Persistence Arc
Support · Guidance · Real-World Readiness
This is the arc that the classroom will never teach and the dormitory will never deliver. Students in the thick of college life need guidance that lives between those two spaces — practical information, academic counseling, real-world advice, and culturally grounded tools that help them persist when the system pushes back. This arc walks with them every step of the way.

Arc 04
The Professional Arc
The Arc of Becoming
Beginning in junior year, this arc prepares students to step fully into their professional identity. They learn how to select an advisor, mentor, sponsor, and trainer — and critically, how to distinguish each role and know when and how to engage each one. This is the arc of becoming: the deliberate, strategic transition from student to professional, grounded in legacy.
